Instructor Profile
Renshi Graham McDonnell is ranked a 4th dan in Zen Do Kai and BJC Muay Thai and is the coowner of the WA Institute of Martial Arts. He started training in Shotokan Karate in 1987, achieving black belt rank in 1997 before taking up Zen Do Kai. He has been training in ZDK for 12 years and teaching full time for 11 years.
Qualifications & Achievements:
Competing in touch contact karate tournaments; Four Thai boxing fights with a 3 –1 win/loss record. He has won the WA WKA Middleweight Championship Title and has also fought under full Thai rules including elbows and knees to the face. He recently fought and won an International Muay Thai bout.
An interesting fact about Renshi Graham: He trains the ADF Special Air Services (SAS) in Close Quarter Fighting (CQF) and assists the counter terrorism division with improving their unarmed Close Quarter Fighting techniques.
