BJMA WA STATE CAMP
2012 Summer Camp offers elite instruction, grading preparation
Elite instructors, including WKA World and South Pacific Feather Weight Women's Muay Thai Champion Alicia Pestana, will conduct a series of martial skills workshops as part of the BJMA WA Zen Do Kai Summer Camp to be held from March 9 to March 11.
This year, the end of the camp, held at Ern Halliday Recreation Centre in the northern suburb of Hillarys, also leads into the first BJMA WA State grading at Craigie Leisure Centre on March 11.
Students preparing for the March grading are encouraged to attend the camp as a final preparation for their belt or singlet test. Summer camp organiser Doug Spear said many of the sessions would have practical orientation, such as a session on Kata principles with BJMA WA State Manager and ZDK 8th degree black Kyoshi Justin Boylan.
Other sessions/workshops will cover:
- Weapons - knife and arnis
- ZDK Combat fundamentals
- Japanese philosophies
- Muay Thai
- MMA Drills
- Systema
- BJJ; and
- Performance coaching
The cost of the three day camp, including training, meals and accommodation is $300. A day pass is also available for $150.
